It didn’t take me very long to choose which drum I should play. From the very beginning, the sound that I sought after is what Premier has to offer. That’s why I purchased a Premier Artist Maple as my very first kit in 2006. I bought a 60’s Premier Vintage Oyster drum set in 2009, and in 2012, I added a Premier Classic drum set to my collection.
Well, I find myself somewhat stuck and unable to move on from the 90’s music. I was in high school back in the day, and in Indonesia, they referred to us as “anak indies/barudak indies” because we listened to and literally copied the style from head to toe of British pop/rock bands such as The Stone Roses, Oasis, Blur, The Lightning Seeds, Shed Seven, The La’s, The Verve, Manic Street Preachers, Suede, Pulp, and many more.
I recently discovered that Maxi of Shed 7, Chris Sharrock (The La’s, Oasis, Beady Eye, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds), Jay Sharrock (The View, Miles Kane), and many others are part of the Premier family. Of course, everyone knows the legendary Keith Moon of The Who with his iconic Premier double bass drum too. So when this legacy came along and said hello, asking if I would join, my response was automatic and without any doubt—I said YES, for sure!
