Hailing from Aalborg, Denmark, Søren Pedersen decided to take up the drumsticks at the age of 13. Growing up, Søren was introduced to rock music by his dad, and together they would listen to bands such as Jethro Tull and The Who. Doane Perry and Keith Moon provided early inspiration for the aspiring drummer. A self-taught player, Søren participated in various bands, touring Denmark and honing his skills as a drummer. However, it wasn’t until later that he found his niche in the music scene.
In 2017, Søren was invited to join forces with the Danish metalcore quintet, Wolves Among Us, and has since released two albums with them: ‘Collapse’ (2018) and the recent ‘Hollow Gloom’ (2021). In the winter of 2022, Søren became a member of the newly founded hardcore band Kōya, which is scheduled to release their debut EP entitled ‘Fragments’ in 2024.
When asked about his drumming style, Søren responded, “Simple and musical. I’m not that flashy and don’t aim to be. I want the drums to complement the music it interacts with in the best way possible.”
