I started playing drums when I was 7, first with my church’s worship team and then through school bands, busking, and forming my first proper band at 15. I listened to Green Day, blink-182 and Arctic Monkeys non-stop and spent most of my childhood learning to emulate what those drummers were doing. Those early years taught me how to play with all kinds of musicians and really shaped the drummer I am today. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible artists in the studio and on stages across the UK — recording, producing, and touring in genres ranging from singer-songwriter and worship to ska, folk, pop, and rock, with rock being where I feel most at home. Ahead of a recent tour with Vistas, I finally retired the kit I’d had since I was 11 and properly took time to explore my options. Every time I sat down at a Premier kit, it just felt right — the tone, the feel, and the lineage of drummers I grew up admiring behind Premier kits all clicked. Taking it out on tour has only confirmed that choice; it’s been solid, musical, and exactly what I want behind me every night.
