I play Premier drums mainly because the Premier team are the best and the drums look and sound amazing. And it's a quality British company.

Information

Drummer and Music Producer, Cassell was raised in the East-End of London (Forest Gate) and made his start as a drummer at the age of 11. In his early teens Cassell was part of a well respected jazz/funk fusion band 'Quite Sane', who went on to win Capitol Radio's 'Young London Band of the Year'. They shared the stage with great acts such as 'the Roots' and 'James Brown'. At around this time Cassell set about gaining the required knowledge to turn his passion for music into a career.

Cassell successfully applied for a business development loan from 'The Prince's Trust' after which he set-up his own production studio. At the heart of Cassell's production was 'hip hop', working with UK hip-hop artists and singers he met through prolonged residencies as the drummer for the live event, 'The Apricot Jam' hosted by 'Jonzi D'. This allowed him to work with artists such as, TY, Estelle, Skinny Man, Rodney P and Roots Manuva to name a few.

Cassell's drumming then took him outside the UK, where he toured for six years with international superstar 'Keziah Jones'. Performing as a headliner act in the biggest festivals around Europe and Japan.

Never losing contact with his UK life, Cassell still managed to work alongside some of the UK's most talented musicians such Eric Appapoulay, Terri Walker, Beverly Knight, Eska, Collin Emmanuel, Kele-le-Roc, Mpho, Julie Dexter, James and Jason Yarde to name but a few.

Working with Marcel Pusey founder of 'Bassisitary Arts', Cassell has had the privilege to share his knowledge and skills with the community by teaching educational workshop programs in schools across the UK and Far East, giving him the chance to diversify as a musician outside the fast 'touring' lane. Cassell's work with Bassistry has also involved writing music for production companies such as Wish Films, SFTV and Cimex Productions.
In the recent years Cassell has taken up the position as the new drummer for Mike Skinner & The Streets and has recently completed a European and US tour.
He has co-written and is currently touring with one of the UK's newest most successful artists 'Plan B' recording drums for the No.1 chart topping album 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks', which has also seen success with two top ten singles.
He has simultaneously recorded drums and co-wrote with Akalda on his album entitled, 'Double Think', which entered the UK itunes Hip-Hip-Hop  charts at No.1.
Most recently Cassell has joined the Sony family by signing a new publishing deal.
Keep a look out for Cassell as he continues his musical journey.
