Premier introduces limited edition steam-bent Modern Classic snare drums
24 January 2013Premier are to introduce two limited edition steam-bent Modern Classic snare drums to its product range at this year's NAMM Show.Hand built in the UK using the finest woods available, these Modern Classic models utilise new machining techniques and moulding processes to create a 100% solid steam-bent 10mm shell.Unlike most steam-bent shells on the market, there are no reinforcement rings resulting in minimal glue used in the shells production. The steam-bent shell is regarded as one of the most pure forms of drum shell that is sought after my many professional players worldwide.Available from January 2013, the steam-bent Modern Classic come in two models. A 14" x 5.5" solid beech (2633SBE) featuring chrome hardware with natural beech finish, and a 14" x 6.5" solid maple (2635SMA) featuring 'weathered' chrome hardware with a hand applied driftwood natural finish.Limited to a production run of 50 each, both models consist of a hand rubbed satin oil finish, Premier's elegant Modern Classic tube lugs, Premier's standard 45 degree bearing edge and hand-cut snare bed, 2.3mm triple-flange steel hoops and a quick release R-4 Dunnett snare strainer.
