Premier and Bannatyne partner

Premier are pleased to announce the appointment of Bannatyne Ltd., renowned manufacturer of pipe bags, moisture control systems, reeds and accessories, as a specialist Marching Partner Centre to serve pipe band and marching band customers in Scotland and beyond.

Proprietor Craig Bannatyne started in 1999 by developing the first ever Hide Zipper Bag and Water Tube Bottle Trap. Craig then moved into his own premises, designing his own range of Bannatyne pipe bags and moisture control devices. The revolutionary Bannatyne Hide Zipper Bag, a bag that right now is the choice of synthetic pipe bags. The business and product range has continued to grow year on year and Bannatyne Pipe Bags and Piping Supplies now employs twelve people at its West Lothian premises. Bannatyne already supplies their products to many of the world’s top bands, soloists and to the trade and is now set to expand considerably by offering Premier’s marching drums and accessories to its customers. Offering trade sales alongside its retail premises and an online store, Bannatyne is building a strong inventory of Premier products so that from the middle of 2011 delivery can be offered from stock on the complete range of pipe band and marching band products.

“We appreciate that not everyone wants to shop online, some people prefer the human interaction, product advice, to feel and touch the products they are going to buy and of course to try them out. We are delighted to also announce our own retail store is now open at our premises in Whitburn, ideally located for West Lothian and only 30 minutes from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling” advises Gary Nimmo, Sales & Marketing Manager at Bannatyne Ltd. “All the same products that are in our online store are available at our shop store for the same prices and we accept credit and debit cards in store. We will also be pro-actively supporting other retailers by offering very competitive trade prices and swift delivery from our own inventory, as well as built to order drums from the Premier factory.”

Gary is a piper with several years of Grade 1 experience. Most recently he now plays for the world famous, 12-time World Champions Strathclyde Police Pipe Band and prior to that played with The Clan Gregor Society between 2001 and 2008. Also if one band wasn’t enough Gary is also the Pipe Major of his local band Camelon & District Pipe Band who have recently been promoted in to Grade 4a. Gary will be more than happy to assist with all your needs. Alongside Gary and acting as drum specialist and advisor is Mick O’Neill, leading drummer of Fife Constabulary Pipe Band and formerly Gary’s leading drummer at Clan Gregor Society. Mick has been a world solo drumming finalist once and a semi finalist on several occasions. He holds the RSPBA Advanced and Instructors certificates and is also a qualified RSPBA adjudicator. Mick also spends his time as a drumming tutor at George Watsons College, where he enjoys vast successes with the Novice and Juvenile Bands.

“We are very positive about the partnership with Bannatyne” confirms Premier’s Marching Product Specialist and Sales Manager Sven Parris. “We believe in our world class products and are looking forward to improved availability and great customer service through our arrangement with Bannatyne. They have excellent existing trade relationships so will be able to support trade customers equally as well as retail customers; this is crucial to all our success."
