Premier, 'The Elite' manufacturer of drums for the most serious drummers out there. Over my wonderful time with Premier I have seen them grow from strength to strength. The Premier Series drums that I have been using for this last tour are a classic  example of quality and care in the manufacture. You can't (well you do, don't you) 'BEAT 'EM'.

Information

Nicko McBrain was born in Hackney, East London, on June 5th 1952. After hearing Joe Morello performing with the legendary Dave Brubeck jazz band as a child, Nicko was hooked on the drums, using pots and pans in his parent’s kitchen until they finally bought him his first drum set at the age of 12.

Throughout his teen years Nicko performed in several part-time pub groups, playing everything from jazz through to the early rock sounds of the 60s. He also began to take on session work, playing on countless different recordings.
In 1977 Nicko started working with the Pat Travers band, recording two albums before moving on to work with French punk-metallists Trust’and three-piece McKitty in the early 80s.

Whilst in McKitty Nicko met Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris at an open air festival in Belgium. After the departure of Clive Burr from the Iron Maiden drum seat, Steve Harris approached Nicko who then joined the band for their 1983 "Piece of Mind" album. This has been Nicko’s full time position ever since.

After 23 years with Iron Maiden selling over 70 million albums world-wide, Nicko McBrain has become an institutional figure, well know for his showmanship and live performances. Iron Maiden are recognised as one of the most important heavy-metal bands in the history of music and Nicko has been a major part of their success.

Nicko has influenced many modern drummers over a wide range of styles and continues please millions of loyal ‘Maiden’ fans across the globe.

Iron Maiden’s 15th studio album "The Final Frontier" was released earlier this year proving that Iron Maiden and Nicko will be around for years to come.
